2. Recap of Episode 2 of The Beginning After The End
The second episode of The Beginning After The End starts with a sparring session between Arthur and his father, Reynolds. In the fight, Arthur revealed his incredible potential by breaking his father’s sword using his magic-reinforced sword. At this point, Reynolds realised that Arthur was far too talented to be taught at home, so he appealed to his wife, Alice, to have him sent to a proper instructor. She was completely opposed to sending him away at such a young age, but after Arthur suggested that the two also accompany him, the family decided to set out together.
Arthur’s family set out with a party called the Twin Horns party, which used to be the party under which his parents used to work. Their journey was through carriages, which Arthur found to be primitive yet oddly satisfying. On their route, they came by monsters, which were pretty easily taken by all the members of the Twin Horns party.
They stopped their journey at night and camped outside. While his mother tended to his father’s wounds, Arthur revealed that his mother was a special kind of mage called an emitter, and since this magic was rare, it explained why his family lived discreetly. After Alice was done healing Reynolds, one of the members of the Twin Horns party named Adam approached Reynolds and asked if he could borrow Arthur for a sparring session, to which he agreed, and all the other members of the party, along with his parents, decided to observe from the sides.
When the fight began, Arthur realised that Adam had no intention of holding back, so he decided to go all out from the beginning. He reinforced his feet and sword with magic and took a huge leap. Arthur was really fast and caught Adam off guard, but it was also pretty obvious that Arthur’s body couldn’t hold up to his potential. All he could afford was a few exchanges with Adam, only to get blown away by the momentum of his own attacks later.
Adam got berated by everyone else for not holding back against a child, but everyone also agreed that Arthur was far too powerful for his age. Amid the chaos, Arthur was approached by a rather reserved member of the party called Jasmine. She wanted to know how Arthur pulled off his really fast move and hoped he could teach her. As time passed, it so happened that the introverted Jasmine grew a lot closer with Arthur, and even gave him a gift on his birthday.
The last scene of the episode featured Arthur’s carriage getting surrounded by a party of thieves during their journey. While every member of the Twin Horns party was significantly stronger than the thieves individually, they were against an overwhelmingly high number of enemies who were planning on killing every male and taking Arthur and the other women as slaves.
Everyone had their hands tied with their battles, particularly Reynolds, who also got injured by a rather powerful opponent. As the thieves approached the carriage, Reynold told Arthur that his mother was pregnant. He then asked Arthur to protect his mother by taking her away from the thieves, and Arthur did just that. While he was running away from the pack of thieves, a long-range magic user targetted his mother, but Arthur, who managed to detect this in the nick of time pushed his mother away, and inturn got hit by the magic, and got thrown of the cliff.
3. Speculation of Episode 3 of The Beginning After The End
The latest episode of The Beginning After The End had a pretty interesting end, as Arthur finally began to understand a lot of the emotions his parents felt and even cried at the possibility that he wouldn’t be able to see his little sibling. The post-credit scene of the episode revealed that Arthur was still alive and kicking on a forest floor. Before he woke up and did anything, he was approached by a monster who somehow knew his name and called out to him.
In episode 3 of The Beginning After The End, we will get to know more about the creature that approached Arthur and what its intentions are. It isn’t clear if Arthur is going to reunite with his family at this point, but it is very likely that Arthur will have an adventure before the next time he meets his family again.
