Rotten Tomatoes Validates The Batman As “Fresh” At 87%

The premiere of Matt Reeves’ The Batman has almost arrived, with early screenings of the film beginning this week.

On Monday, the first set of reviews and reactions started to make rounds online – and it seems like they have already helped the film cross a major milestone.

Rotten Tomatoes not so long ago revealed the score for Robert Pattinson’s The Batman, and it stands at 87% with 171 reviews and its “Certified Fresh” on its platform.

The plot will see Batman having a face off against an updated Zodiac-type version of the Riddler played by Paul Dano who is a serial killer targeting elite Gotham City citizens.

He will also be seen uncovering corruption that connects to his own blood family during the investigation, and is forced to join forces to catch the Riddler and bring justice.

The cast will have Robert Pattinson as Batman, an unrecognizable Colin Farrell as The Penguin, Paul Dano as The Riddler, Zoe Kravitz as young Selena Kyle, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Peter Sarsgaard as Gil Colson, Jayme Lawson as Bella Real, and Andy Serkis as Batman’s longtime trusted butler and caretaker Alfred Pennyworth.

The review aggregate site Rotten Tomatoes disclosed The Batman’s Tomatometer score on Instagram. This declaration came earlier this morning, holding the film at a 91% fresh score with 122 reviews.

The numbers keep varying as more reviews get collected and now it currently stands at an 87% with 171 reviews. Many critics have praised the dark take on Batman, the acting and the exciting plot, while others profess the action is  constricted to its PG-13 rating.

If we see as a whole, Matt Reeves updated take is sitting very well with the fans and critics, with the audiences applauding the darker take on the defender of Gotham ana a few are complaining about its long run time and toned down violence.

Aggregate site Metacritic currently holds The Batman at a score of 73%, and there is a lot of pragmatic buzz around the release.

If the early spectators are to be believed, the audiences are in for a ride when they watch The Batman in theatres, releasing this week on March 4.

It is clear from the reviews that Robert Pattinson has earned his place as the Batman and the moody and dark take will have the audiences on a ride full of thrills and surprises.

Now that the critics have weighed in, it will be interesting to observe how the audiences will perceive the expected release.
