Cartaphilus, also known as Joseph, is seen with Silky at first. Joseph mocks her by saying she’s starved for someone to care for. And as an answer to that, we see Joseph on the ground in a moment. Just a little while later, as they were chatting, a mysterious half-monster-half-lady-like person appears and leaves after a simple question.
The scene then changes to Chise and Lucy, who were chatting about how chise can look into people’s dreams. Lucy insists that chise looks into her dream, and when Chise does so, she finds a little girl apologizing in there and two monsters arguing with each other. Upon hearing this description, Lucy suddenly kicks the bench.
The college decided to declare a holiday till Christmas in an attempt to identify the attacker. Before the vacations start, though, Chise hands out the rune amulets she made for her friends and hands Philomela’s to her companion after hearing she’s ill.
Surprisingly, when Philomela receives the amulet, she swallows it up without any warning. And as she continues to mutter the words “I need more” she suddenly shoves her hand in her companion’s chest, taking a book out of there and seemingly killing them.
As Veronica comes to visit her, when this incident was happening inside the room, Philomela attacks her, too. It’s revealed that her companion wasn’t dead. Seeing this, they say that she has been corrupted.
Before Chise rushes to the spot for help, Rian tries to help Veronica, but Philomela, who is slowly transforming into a monster, knocks him unconscious. She then goes towards the gathering of students and teachers, where she makes the students unconscious immediately. The episode ends as Rian begs Chise to stop Philomela.
