Tesla Note is an upcoming spy action anime series adapted from a manga with the same name written by Masafumi Nishida, the creator of the popular “Tiger and Bunny” anime. Tadayoshi Kubo and Kouta Sannomiya are helping him.
The manga is fairly new, beginning only in early 2021. The anime coming out so soon can only mean one thing, that the series is so good that it needs to be adapted straight away.
The upcoming anime is a thrill and action-packed series where the main protagonist, Botan, is a high schooler but trained as a ninja since childhood. She looks deceptively simple leading a double life, reminding me of anime like Death Note.
Though the MC has a double life, the upcoming series is unique with the blend of CGI for a spy action anime. So when is Tesla Note coming?
1. Release Date
Tesla Note is scheduled to premiere on October 3, 2021. It will be broadcasted on Tokyo MX and BS11.

2. Key Visual
The key visual shows the main character, Botan Negoro trying to grab a crystal fragment called, “Notes” which is giving off blue sparks.

3. Trailer
The trailer displays an exciting 3DCG anime with intense background music. The trailer starts with a train suddenly jumping out of the blue sky.
It then introduces some of the characters namely Botan Negoro, the protagonist, followed by Kuruma, Takamatsu Ryuunosuke, Mickey Miller, and Oliver Thornton. The trailer ends with Botan shouting let’s do our best.
The trailer has been lambasted for its heavy use of CGI techniques, with many comparing Tesla Note to the more infamous anime in recent years, “Ex-Arm“.
4. Plot/Storyline
Tesla Note follows the story of Mission T, which is a secret operation to save the world from destruction. Tesla Note focuses on Botan Negoro, a young 17-year-old girl who is trained as a ninja from a young age. She is raised to become the ultimate spy who teams up with another excellent spy, Kuruma.
They aim to recover the legacy of the Serbian-American inventor Nikola Tesla, the “Shards of Tesla.” But other countries and their agents are already moving to secure the Tesla Crystal, and Botan and Kuruma will have to use all their wit to outsmart them.
5. Main Characters in Tesla Note
I. Botan Negoro
Botan Negoro is the main character in Tesla Note. She is seventeen years old and is a descendant of the Negoro Ninja.
Botan is a first-class intelligence officer in terms of both skill and knowledge. She usually hides her identity and lives as a high school girl.
II. Kuruma
Kuruma is a 22-year-old man and is the deuteragonist of Tesla Note. He is a self-proclaimed No. 1 intelligence officer. He hates to lose and looks great, but he has a strong desire for his mission.
III. Takamatsu Ryuunosuke
Ryunosuke is a spy for the Japan Safety and Promotion Corporation. On missions, he provides backup for Botan and Kuruma and is responsible for gathering information and analyzing data. He’s a perfectionist who likes everything prim and proper.
IV. Mickey Miller
Mickey is a CIA officer with top-notch intelligence skills. He has a sharp tongue that doesn’t match his chiseled good looks. His weird behavior throws people off.
V. Oliver Thornton
Oliver works together with Mikey and Buddy as a CIA officer. He’s a gentle guy who never loses his composure.

Kyohei Himi is the chief of Japan’s CIA. He is 39 years old and has a big belly.
II. Jingo Negoro
Jingo Negoro is the grandfather of Botan. He is a former ninja and chairman emeritus. He is 96 years old.

Kensuke Toriumi is a 52-year-old man who is the section head of Japan’s CIA. For him, results are more important than intelligence.
IV. Lily Steiner
Lily Steiner is a 45-year-old woman who is Miller’s superior.
V. Pino
Pino is a 25-year-old man. He is a beautiful young man who calls himself mysterious.
VI. Elmo
Elmo is a 25-year-old man. He is a reticent big man who makes friends with Pino.
7. Theme Song For Tesla Note
The theme songs for the series have been decided. TOKYO MONSTER will play the opening theme song titled “PUPPET’S”.
The ending theme song titled “Sanbunteki Life” will be performed by Yui Ninomiya.
Yui Ninomiya is a voice actress as well as a singer who also performed the OP for the anime, “The World’s Finest Assassin“.

10. Conclusion
The Tesla shards’ powers are causing time and space to become unstable. We can see from the trailer the train being transported from its tracks to the middle of the sky due to the distortion caused by the shards.
Apart from the intense sci-fi plot, I’m also looking forward to seeing how Botan and her partner fare in their secret mission with their daily squabble. Can they outwit the agents of other countries who are also pursuing the crystal fragments?

Tesla Note is a manga by Masafumi Nishida, Tadayoshi Kubo, and Kota Sannomiya. It was first launched on 6th January 2021 in Kodansha’s Weekly Shounen Magazine.
Botan has been trained since childhood to become the best ninja or spy. She is now needed to protect the world as several anomalies are suddenly taking place. “Mission T” includes finding all the pieces of a crystal. This crystal was a project of Nikola Tesla.
Botan and her teammates will have to secure the pieces before any other organization can possess them.
