‘TenSura: Scarlet Bond’ Anime Film to Debut Globally in December

‘That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime’ is one of the most popular isekai series, and rightfully so. Despite the genre being infamous, TenSura doesn’t get much hate, so no wonder people are looking forward to its upcoming film.

While anime films are an exciting theater experience, the whole world doesn’t get to enjoy them at the same time. They come out globally much later than the original Japanese premiere, but it won’t be the same case here.

The staff for ‘That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Scarlet Bond’ has revealed that the film will begin screening globally starting December. This is a pretty early global debut, as the film will open in Japan on November 25, 2022.

Here’s a list of countries and regions where the film is planned to debut:

  • United States
  • United Kingdom
  • Australia
  • New Zealand
  • South Africa
  • Canada
  • France
  • Germany
  • South Korea
  • Taiwan
  • Hong Kong
  • South and Central America

The franchise will reveal release dates later and also plans to include more regions in the list. Crunchyroll had announced that it would screen the film globally (excluding Asia) in 2023, but no further news has come out.

The video begins with Rimuru going to the country Raja, located to the west of Tempest, which has been poisoned. Raja’s mysterious queen, Towa, seeks Rimuru’s help, who discovers an old magic circle to be the cause of this crisis.

After that, a local trader Lacua gets mad at the slime hero for ruining his plans while Benimaru encounters his brother, Hiiro. Soon all these characters get entangled, leading to Towa falling ill and Hiiro going berserk.

As the trailer suggests, both of these are caused by Lacua’s meddling and evil intentions. Caught in the middle of it all, Rimuru and his friends resolve to save Towa and Hiiro from this mess.

The movie looks promising and intriguing enough from the promos, so I can’t deny that I’m excited about it.

We’ll most likely get the release dates by the end of this month, so stay tuned for more updates.

About That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime

That Time I Got Reincarnated as Slime is a Japanese manga series written by Fuse and illustrated by Mitz Vah. It was serialized online in 2013 but was later shifted to Micro Magazine as a light novel in 2014. It currently has 21 volumes.

The story of Tensei Shitara Slime follows the journey of Satoru Mikami after he died and reincarnated as a slime in fantasy land. A slime is a creature that reproduces the form and powers of anything that it absorbs or eats.

Satoru starts eating all the magical herbs and crystals in the cave he woke up in and stumbles upon a dragon who had been captured and couldn’t move due to a barrier. Since both of them had nothing else to do, they befriend each other. The dragon accidentally makes Satoru a named monster, and Satoru promises him that he’d find a way to break the barrier. Hence, an unknown journey begins with this unusual friendship.
