We all have days when a day at work feels like a straight visit to hell, but luckily we get weekends off. But for Prince Wein of Natra, weekends are a treasure, for which he is ready to sell off his entire kingdom, quite literally.
Toru Toba’s light novel series The Genius Prince’s Guide to Raising a Nation Out of Debt (Hey, How About Treason?) will be receiving an anime adaptation with the premiere in January 2022.
To celebrate the TV anime adaptation, the official website began streaming a monthly net anime series with an original script by writer Toru Toba on August 12, 2021. The first episode is titled “Festival” and features the cast of the upcoming TV anime series.
The short drama features cute chibi characters of Prince Wein of Natra, his aide and childhood friend Ninym Ralei, and Lowa, the imperial princess of the Earthworld empire. The short drama follows the nobility as they plan out a grand lantern festival, only for Ninym to snap them to reality about their empty wallets.
The short is quite hilarious and gives the taste of the comedy in the upcoming anime.
The official English names of the characters are yet to be released.

The series has an exciting cast with many new faces and some OG staff members from classics like Hunter x Hunter. It will be interesting to see them all on a silver screen.
These hilarious shorts are only available on the NBC Universal Anime/Music YouTube channel and will not feature in the original story adapted in the anime series.
The anime will follow Prince Wein from a tiny kingdom called Natra, with little money and no military presence. Faced with the impossible task of running the country, the prince can’t seem to catch a break. So begins his trials and tribulations to auction off his country, only to find himself being praised and favored among his people.
Will this lazy prince successfully sell off his kingdom? Or will he be in for more suffering at the hands of his aide? To know more, don’t miss out on the anime series.
