Ten Count, the popular and explicit yaoi manga is getting an anime adaptation. What I love most about Ten Count is that it does not directly enter into the ‘hentai-ness’ but rather develops a sweet relation between the characters first.
Shirotani Tadaomi has mysophobia (fear of germs), and it is hard for him to develop normal human relationships. Kurose could tell that he has mysophobia at their very first meeting.
An anime adaptation of the Ten Count manga was announced in March 2020. It was revealed that the anime will premiere sometime in 2020.
The official website of Ten Count has revealed that the anime will be postponed until further notice. The anime’s form and production are still being reconsidered, and the release date is left unspecified.
More details on the upcoming BL anime will be announced as the production proceeds.
Rihito Takarai first debuted the manga in the Dear+ magazine in July 2013. Viz Media licenses it for North America. The manga inspired a social network game in December 2017 called “Ten Count: Another Days”.
Ten Count has a total of 2 million copies by March 2018. If you are an avid yaoi reader, then you must have encountered Ten Count some time or the other.
Kurose is a psychotherapist who recommended exposure therapy to cure Shirotani of his mysophobia. At the same time, an intense relationship develops between them. Kurose later realizes that Shirotani is a masochist who is sexually aroused by the same acts that disgust him to no end.
Will Shirotani’s mysophobia be cured? Or will the aggressive advances of Kurose drive him away?
