- Fans are rejoicing the inclusion of Eddy Gordo, who had been teased alongside three others for the Season 1 DLC.
With less than a fortnight until Tekken 8’s hotly anticipated launch, Bandai Namco has consistently dropped players from the roster. After unveiling the complete roster, they have moved on to the first character from the DLC.
The reveal video uploaded to Bandai Namco’s official YouTube channel shows the possible length of the game along with brief shots of motion capture actors and early animation rigs doing the idle stance of the legendary Eddy Gordo. This hints at his return for the DLC after Tekken 8’s release.
After his debut in Tekken 3, he has been a part of every mainline Tekken title. His introduction was quite interesting as he entered the King of Iron Fist tournament in an attempt to avenge his father’s death.
He happens to be the series’ resident Capoeira Martial Arts Practitioner. His fighting style is retained, as it seems from the reveal trailer.
However, his design has been radicalized, bringing joy to many fans yearning for him to be a part of the Tekken 8 roster. Many fans have claimed that Tekken 8 would have been incomplete without Eddy Gordo.
The reveal is not surprising given that in a leak last year; Eddy had shown up as a potential DLC inclusion to Tekken 8. Other speculated fighters include Roger the Kangaroo, Xiao Meng, and Armor King.
It must be kept in mind that the official announcement, without going into the specifics, said that Tekken 8 will have four fighters as a part of the first-year pass. This shows that there must be some element of truth in the leaks after all, with the release of Tekken 8 just around the corner on January 26th.
