Ted Lasso is returning to Apple TV+ pretty soon with season 3, and reports about it being the final lap of the show have been flying everywhere. With the new season, we’ll see the return of Jason Sudeikis’ Lasso and his team AFC Richmond, as they’ll go head-to-head with the new bad guy and his team.
The new season will premiere on Apple TV+ on March 15, 2023, less than a fortnight away. Much of the main cast is returning, including Jason Sudeikis, Nick Mohammed, Brett Goldstein, Brendan Hunt, Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Phil Dunster, Jeremy Swift, Toheeb Jimoh, Cristo Fernadez, and Kolak Bokinni.
Joining the cast in season 3 are Becky Ann Becker and Jodi Balfour, who plays Ted’s mom and Jack, a charming venture capitalist, respectively.
In the last season, Nick Mohammed’s Nate went to West Ham after feeling overlooked at AFC Richmond under Lasso, and now that he’s the coach of the opposing team, he’ll be gunning for the biggest match against his former boss.
The showrunners have promised the show’s viewers that the new season will heavily feature Nate and Rebecca’s character arcs while also focusing on the next chapter of Ted Lasso’s life. Watch the new trailer for the upcoming season below:
The trailer has a few dialogues placed for humorous reasons, but otherwise, the new season will likely focus on a long-coming battle between Nate and Lasso. The song choice “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” suggests that the two coaches have something to lose even when they’re at the top of their games.
The new trailer also highlights that the audience hasn’t seen the last of Ted’s anxiety, and it will only get worse in the latest season. Nate might’ve hit the jackpot after being made West Ham’s coach, but the trailer also shows that the new job has its burdens along with its perks.
Catch up with the show’s previous two seasons before watching the possible last season of Ted Lasso.
About Ted Lasso
Ted Lasso is an American sports-comedy streaming TV series developed by Bill Lawrence, Jason Sudeikis, Joe Kelly, and Brendan Hunt. It’s based on a character of the same name that Sudeikis first portrayed in a series of promos for NBC Sports’ coverage of the Premier League.
It follows the life of Ted Lasso, a coach of college-level American football who is unexpectedly recruited to coach an English Premier League team, AFC Richmond, despite having no experience at all in association football.
It stars Sudeikis as the titular character, Ted Lasso, joined by Hannah Waddingham, Jeremy Swift, Phil Dunster, Brett Goldstein, Brendan Hunt, Nick Mohammed, Juno Temple, and Sarah Niles among many others.
