After it failed in season 1, AFC Richmond has a better chance than ever to enter the Premier League. But Rupert has played dirty and selected Nate in light of Ted’s recent debacle, making him the coach of his newly acquired team, West Ham.
Lasso’s panic attacks seem to be in better control now, but a new boyfriend in his ex-wife and son’s life and his new competition against Nate might trigger something again. As for Nate, he can’t get over wanting to one-up Ted in the eyes of the public, and he will go to any limits to do so. What can we expect from the next episode of Ted Lasso?
1. Episode 2 Synopsis/Speculation
News of a top player looking to move to London sends the English clubs into a frenzy. Richmond plays their first game back in the Premier League.
After Rupert’s new acquisition of West Ham, Rebecca wants nothing more than to have her team qualify and win in the Premier League. She might put more pressure on Lasso, who may be great at his work but is also prone to breaking under stress.
While Richmond and Ham have great players, with Jamie and Roy both working hard at the former team, a new player just became available in the English market. All the English clubs will go into overdrive to secure the top player, which will lead to some early display of rivalries between Nate and Ted.
We’re bound to get some drama on the field but what about off-field? Ted just found out about Jake, his ex’s new boyfriend, who already has a great relationship with his son. Will that be a cause of concern in Lasso’s life? We’ll just have to keep watching season 3 to find out!
Keely and Roy split up due to her work, but is that really the end of their story? I, for one, loved them together and can’t wait to watch how they handle being apart.

5. Episode 1 Recap
Rebecca wants Lasso and Roy to step up Richmond’s game to qualify in the Premier League and win against Rupert. While Ted visited his son Henry, Roy took over planning a 4-2-2 formation. Meanwhile, Nate lets his blunt side take over while coaching his new team, and he is as desperate for attention as ever.
When the pundits declare AFC Richmond will finish last, Lasso takes the team to the sewer to explain that despite the shit around you, the team must let it flow through them and grow to prove the haters wrong. The pictures leak, and Nate comments on how the coach is so shitty, which is why they were seen there.
Lasso takes to self-depreciation as a maneuver to play off Nate’s ugly comments, and the English eat it up. That’s when Nate realizes he can never be as charming and loved as his former boss.
Lasso returns to Henry, who he sees playing with an unknown toy, and when asked by his father where he got it, Henry replies Jake, mom’s new boyfriend. This surprises Lasso, but he plays it off in front of his son. Meanwhile, Phoebe is grateful that even when Keely and Roy broke up, she remained close to his uncle’s ex, later calling her uncle an idiot for letting her go.
Much more drama filled with laughter awaits us, when the next episode airs!
