Teasing Master Takagi-san is a pretty wholesome and fun anime to watch as Nishikata gets teased by Takagi. Nishikata finally realizes what Takagi means to him with this episode.
Takagi and Nishikata are the duos you’ll find glued together anywhere you meet them. What contests will Nishikata and Takagi get into next that makes them get closer to their feelings? Will Nishikata find ways to make sure his feelings for his close friend are true?
With the school play coming soon, I’m sure Nishikata might end up playing the prince’s role, which would be coincidently amazing. I hope Nishikata and Takagi express their feelings in the coming episodes.
I’m excited to see and laugh with this wholesome anime as new episodes come up. So, let’s wait and see what dynamic the series would bring for us as it gets released.

Episode 5 Recap
This episode starts with Nishikata showing a dull face because he got green peppers for breakfast. Takagi asks why he’s got a dull look, but he doesn’t explain why, thinking she’ll tease him. Nishikata believes he’s in the clear, but Takagi knows about his dislike for green peppers.
Takagi teases him for his taste buds, to which Nishikata asks if she has any dislikes as well. Nishikata takes the opportunity and states he’ll win if he guesses what she dislikes. Even with hints from Takagi, Nishikata gets the answer wrong.
Takagi then says someday, if she cooks for him, she’ll make tasty green peppers for him. Nishikata, confused by the statement, knows he doesn’t want green peppers whatsoever. Afterward, the class has a meeting to decide what to do for their school’s culture festival.
With the decision to put on a play, Yukari, Mina, and Sanae set the idea of a love story between a prince and princess. After explaining the plot and the whole class excited, the trio cast members for the set play.
Without a doubt, they pick Takagi as the princess because her personality and looks fit the role. They make all the boys audition to find the best fit for the prince’s part. Takagi says if Nishikata gets the prince’s role, he wins, making it a contest.
As the auditions for the prince’s role are in process, Nishikata gets nervous to act as he knows he has to win the contest Takagi put. When he tries to say the lines, the atmosphere between Nishikata and Takagi changes into pure romance.
Surprisingly, the role goes to Kimura with slight changes in the script. Later, Takagi tells Nishikata she really wanted to hear his love confession, making him freak out in the middle class. After school, Nishikata takes Takagi to a secret spot to throw a fishing contest.
Nishikata states whoever catches the most fish or the biggest whooper wins. As the contest happens, Takagi gets lucky and reels in catch instantly. Takagi says she’ll think of a penalty if Nishikata losses. Nishikata gets a big bite and struggles to reel it in, to his surprise.
As Nishikata almost falls in the pond, Takagi grabs him from the back like a hug, making him speechless. On their way back home, Nishikata wonders why his heart beats fast after the incident. Takagi says ‘love’ to tease Nishikata, which makes him realize his feeling.
Takagi only meant she loves Koi fish (the pronunciation for love said here is similar to Koi). Takagi tells him to help her practice the princess role for the play as the prince, which he agrees to for losing the contest.

Teasing Master Takagi-san is a manga series written and illustrated by Sōichirō Yamamoto. It has been serialized in Shogakukan’ Monthly Shōnen Sunday Mini and then in Monthly Shōnen Sunday since 2013.
The series follows the daily life of Takagi, who loves to tease her classmate Nishikata, and Nishikata’s failed attempts to get back at her. Each time Nishikata fails he vows to come up with new plans but Takagi often identifies his weakness and capitalizes on them.
