The story of ‘Tearmoon Empire’ begins at the gallows. A rebel group hangs the princess of the empire, but she wakes up in the body of her younger self when everything is still fine.
She soon realizes that she has time traveled and her future is still the same. Her life motto changes from then on, and she can do anything to escape execution.
The Tearmoon Empire novel series has been greenlit for an anime adaptation in 2023. Studio SILVER LINK is in charge of the animation production.
A new trailer for the anime has just been released, and you can see the princess’ plight in the video:
The video begins with Mia walking towards a guillotine and getting beheaded. As she wakes up in her younger body, she finds the diary she had always carried with her. Now, she knows about the chronology of events and can start planning to prevent the rebellion.
Now that she knows her pitiful future, Mia’s arrogant personality will change, and she will eventually make allies who will help her.
Sumire Uesaka, the cast behind Shalltear Bloodfallen from ‘Overlord,’ will be Mia’s voice actress. You should also check out this new visual of Mia standing before a guillotine. The image is quite ironic if you ask me.
Some of the main staff members have also been revealed:
Position | Staff | Other Works |
Director | Yūshi Ibe | The Greatest Demon Lord is Reborn as a Typical Nobody (Assistant Director) |
Script Writer | Deko Akao | Komi Can’t Communicate |

The bloody diary in Mia’s hand holds the key to her future. Can she reshape history, or will time bring her to the same pedestal once again?
