Season 11 may be the last for The Walking Dead’s original run, but don’t reach for your tissue boxes just yet. The undead have a lot of unfinished business—of which, a few tales will be unraveled in AMC’s new show, Tales of the Walking Dead.
What is it exactly about? What timeline is it set in? More importantly, when does it release?
Tales of the Walking Dead is a six-episode anthological series that will debut on AMC and AMC+ on August 14. It will chronicle new and existing characters in different time periods of The Walking Dead franchise.
I’m sure you’re teeming with excitement to know more about this miniseries. Here are all the details:
The Plot
It is thrilling to be back in the zombie world, even if it’s just for six episodes. I find the anthological concept quite unique since we’ll get to have a look at brand-new characters and their stories in a way that will really enhance The Walking Dead Franchise.
Other than promising us that this series will explore different situations that fans have been curious about, the show has not announced any other plot or character information.
We only have a teaser trailer out for the show—which does hint at exploring events like the first outbreak, evacuation, and more. It is possible that a full-length trailer will be released soon. In the meantime, prepare yourselves with this little clip:
Release Date
The series will be only six episodes long and will premiere both on AMC and its streaming service, AMC+. Episodes 1 and 2 will be premiering live on AMC+ as well.
If you’re an AMC+ subscriber, good news—from Ep 3 onwards, you will have access to new episodes a week early, beginning from August 21.
