Makoto Shinkai’s latest work, Suzume, has taken the #10 spot among the highest-grossing anime films of all time in Japan.
Makoto Shinkai’s anime film Suzume no Tojimari has earned 11.35 billion yen (about 87 million USD) and has sold over 8.51 million tickets as of January 3. The film is now the 30th highest grossing of all time in Japan and has continued to climb the box office charts since its premiere on November 11.
The film however, still ranks #2 in the weekend charts
