Swiss Retailer Announces Warranty Scores for Graphics Card Makers

Over the last two years, the graphics card market has faced a major change. Gamers have been blessed with a wide range due to the sudden rise of cryptocurrency. Graphics cards have become more popular for their mining purposes.

Digitec, one of the biggest online PC hardware retailers from Switzerland, shared their graphics cards warranty statistics based on at least 300 units sold and returned under warranty within 2 years.

According to the report, the graphics card manufacturer with the lowest risk of defects is Dell. This is because of their professional workstation and GPU solutions that are costlier and have a better build quality. These GPUs do not use complicated custom cooling systems and are not factory-overclocked, hence lower warranty claims.

ASRock seems to have a low rate of claims, i.e., only 0.3%. Out of all the 17 surveyed brands, Sapphire and XFX, both by AMD, are reported to have the highest defect rate.

Sapphire has the quickest warranty case duration. Customers generally go through a 3-day processing time for their claims. This is faster than other brands which take at least a week or two.

In case of motherboards, customers were more likely to file a return claim for warranty, with brands like SuperMicro going up to 5% defect rate, but the least is 2.8% for other brands. The least defective brand is MSI, but it will process the claim much faster if the boards are from Biostar or Gigabyte.

This data might vary depending on the region and the market climate since some have shorter warranty periods and specific customer laws which ensure a faster claim processing time.
