Fans of Superman & Lois can rejoice, as The CW has finally given the green light to season 4 of the DC show.
The series follows Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch as the titular couple, who juggle their superhero and journalism careers with raising their twin sons. The fate of Superman & Lois was uncertain for a while as The CW underwent major changes.
However, Deadline reports that Superman & Lois season 4 is officially happening, though with some adjustments. The season will have only ten episodes, and there might be some cost cuts that could affect the cast size.
It will also be the only DC show on The CW, as newcomer Gotham Knights has been axed. Brad Schwartz, The CW’s Entertainment President, has praised the show’s renewal along with the sports drama All American: Homecoming. Here’s what he said:

Clark and Lois first appeared as part of the Arrowverse on Supergirl and The Flash, but they soon got their own show with a different timeline.
However, now that The Flash has ended its fantastic run, Superman & Lois is the only show left to carry on the legacy of the Arrowverse.
Showrunner Todd Helbing said he would love to have Grant Gustin’s The Flash and Candice Patton’s Iris West guest star on Superman & Lois season 4. It will be really cool to see how they interact with Clark and Lois!
Since the Arrowverse has already established the multiverse, bringing them over wouldn’t be hard without messing up the continuity.
However, Helbing also needs to be careful not to lose the charm of Superman & Lois by adding too many cameos just for the fans. The balance needs to be just perfect for the supposedly final season.
Yes, season 4 might be the last season of this iconic show (Sigh!).
After season 4, DC Studios might want to focus on their own Superman: Legacy, a new movie project by James Gunn, and take back the reins of the iconic hero on the big screen.
On the bright side, Superman & Lois’ season 4 will have fewer episodes, which means less waiting time for Hoechlin’s blue boy scout fans!
DC Studios has big plans for Superman on the silver screen, and they may not want to share him with The CW. So, the series may face some challenges in the future.
However, let’s enjoy the ride and see what season 4 has in store for us for now. After all, you can never have too much of a good thing, especially when it comes to Superman!
