Family is at the heart of Superman and Lois. Sadly, the new trailer reveals that it is family that will cause more tensions in Season 2.
To begin, Lois will have a hard time dealing with Natalie Irons, whose mother is Lois but from another Earth. The trailer shows that while she’s trying not to make a big deal about it, Lois is getting increasingly stressed, straining her relationship with Clark as well.
Elsewhere, John Henry Irons is trying to keep Natalie in check, lest her rash actions have a negative cascading effect.
While balancing being a good husband and father, Clark has to decide how he will train Jordon’s powers. We see him letting Jordon accompany him on a mission.
We don’t know whether they’re successful or not, but we do know Lois is angered by the fact that Clark leaves Jonathan alone in the process.
As if there wasn’t already enough on Clark’s plate, he will also butt heads with newcomer Lt Mitch Anderson (Ian Bohen). Anderson is not one who appreciates the super-heroics and is determined to put Superman in his place.
One way of doing so is demanding that Clark pledges allegiance to the US government. Season 2 will depict how this will spark a huge conflict for Clark, who “gave it [his allegiance] to the world a long time ago.”
We all know that superheroes taking sides in political agenda does not go down well.
Fans are wondering who will be the big bad villain in Season 2 like Morgan Edge/Tal-Rho was in Season 1. But with so many concerns already highlighted in the trailer, does one really need a villain?
The Super family deserves a break, some downtime, and normalcy. After all, that’s why they moved to Smallville.
Superman and Lois Season 2 will return on January 11.
