A cute, socially awkward girl who has to overcome adversity and become a superhero while balancing her everyday life, you would think that people would eat this story up, right? Unfortunately, it wasn’t the case with the anime series, ‘SHY.’
It flew under the radar and wasn’t a popular title this season. However, it has a great cast and an exciting world, which managed to gather the attention of a few fans. This anime is now receiving a second installment.
The official website for Bukimi Miki’s ‘SHY’ announced that the series will get a season 2. The author has shared an illustration to commemorate the announcement.
The website revealed two cast members who appeared in the first season’s 12th and final episode. Doki is a dragon who is constantly angry but loves cute things in actuality, and Inori, played by Hayami, is a character who believes that love is the strongest force above all else.

Miki shared an illustration featuring ‘SHY’ to commemorate the announcement.
Furthermore, a special limited edition of the first Blu-ray volume of the anime “SHY” will be released on March 27, 2024. The enclosed bonus includes a special booklet containing a mini-manga drawn by Miki and a Maeka illustration card.
As an audio bonus, an audio commentary for the anime’s first episode, “Because I’m Shy,” will be included.
Since new villains were revealed in the last episode of the manga, it will be interesting to see how the SHY will tackle them in season 2.
About SHY
SHY is a superhero manga series written and illustrated by Bukimi Miki. The series has been serialized in Akita Shoten’s Weekly Shōnen Champion magazine since August 2019.
The story is set in a world where superheroes are real and possess ‘Heart Power’ which gets stronger depending on the hero’s resolve. Teru Momijiyama is an awkward and introverted superhero called SHY and has flame powers. A group of superheroes from each country is created in order to fight against the villainous organization Amalareiks. Being a part of the group, Teru has to get rid of her shyness to protect the world.
