Being one of the oldest anime studios out there, SUNRISE has not only set the standard for animation; but the music as well. Now they are ready to revamp some of the classics from their collection.
SUNRISE has announced a project where KiRiSaMe UNDERTAKER will cover the theme songs under the SUNRISE music label. The first of these is a cover of “COLORS,” the opening theme for Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion.
This music video was shot and produced at the SUNRISE head office in Suginami City, Tokyo. Some of the band members have stated that they really love the Code Geass anime and clearly have done the song justice.
The band also performed the theme song “Hitosetsuna” for Code Geass Genesic Re;CODE smartphone game, which is already available on all music streaming platforms.
KiRiSaMe UNDERTAKER will also cover “Winners,” which is the ending theme for FUTURE GPX CYBER FORMULA as a part of this project. More covers of SUNRISE anime themes will be announced soon.
SUNRISE Music has produced music for a lot of popular anime like Code Geass, the GUNDAM franchise, Love Live! and Cowboy Bepop.
KiRISaMe UNDERTAKER is a five-member band that is signed with the SUNRISE Music label. They made their debut in 2018 with the song “Stereo to Monologue,” which is the opening theme for Double Decker! Doug & Kirill anime.
Although we do not have the full lineup of songs yet, surely we can expect some of our favorite ones to be covered soon. Be on the lookout for the possibly upcoming covers for Inuyasha and City Hunter opening themes soon.
