Summertime Rendering Ep 5: Release Date, Speculation, Watch Online

The fourth episode of Summertime Rendering provides some of the most riveting revelations and crazy twists since the second episode.

After the slightly slower-paced third episode, which in my opinion, was quite the breath of fresh air, the fourth episode decided to go completely bonkers with the thriller aspect of the show. It gave us no time whatsoever to process what we witnessed.

With the murderous shadow Mio out on a ravenous rampage (again), Shinji getting outwitted by his very own shadow, and the lady in black making a literal mind-blowing surprise appearance, the tension is higher than it has ever been.

Episode 5 Speculations

Summertime Rendering has managed to surprise us with every new episode, coming up with scenarios so bizarre that even the average anime veteran might need to do a double-take sometimes.

I am certain that the upcoming episode will delve further into the uncanny valley as the lady in black could reveal more about herself and the secrets the island carries within itself. Oh, and we could also get to see the “mother” figure that Mio’s and Shinpei’s shadows referred to.

It is obvious that the shadows we have seen until now are not behind the sudden onslaught of the shadows and the mastermind seems to be just around the corner.

Amidst the confusion, Ushio suddenly remembers her own drowning but immediately takes that confusion and channels that into a confession that sends Shin reeling.

Brushing it all off, a spirited Ushio runs off to the festival with a worried Shinpei in tow. Upon catching hold of her, Shin immediately takes her into hiding as all hell would break loose if somebody spotted her.

With the illusion of security, Shinpei runs back to Mio who’s at the shrine only to find another confession gone awry. Mio rejects Sou as she already has feelings for somebody.

Before we can process what’s going on, a badly disguised Ushio shows up and is immediately found out. Her appearance doesn’t get the reaction she had hoped for as everyone is far from happy upon seeing her.

Mio calls her a monster and yells at Shin to get away from her. That is when the bomb is dropped, the Shin over there is not the real one but his shadow.

Soon it is revealed that the real Shin had run into Mio’s shadow on his way to the shrine who was on yet another murderous rampage.

Shinpei is instantly subdued and is questioned on how had he recorded her hs he could do that only if he knew she would be there beforehand.

He then gets thrown against the stairs and a ravenous Shadow Mio takes to questioning him further which is only further intensified with the appearance of Shin’s copy.

The copy syncs its memories with those of the real one and goes on ahead to replace him at the shrine while a writhing Shin attempts to break free from Shadow Mio’s clutches only to get his elbow snapped.

Shadow Mio, in her madness, is about to break one of his legs as well but is swiftly stopped by a sudden appearance by the lady in black who blows Shadow Mio’s head off with a shotgun and a nonchalant question about the local dialect.

Whether Shinpei is saved or is in further trouble is still up in the air.
