SummerSlam, the flagship event of WWE, is back with a bang and is brimming with superstars like Roman Reigns, Jey Uso, Cody Rhodes, Brock Lesnar, and Bianca Belair!
The event has long been considered one of WWE’s “big four,” along with Royal Rumble, Survivor Series, and WrestleMania.
This year’s most anticipated clash is the continuation of the infamous Bloodline Saga, and the defending champion is ‘Tribal Chief’ Roman Reigns. However, he has a serious task in his hands as his defiant cousin Jey Uso is coming to snatch it!
However, this is not the only rivalry to look forward to.
Brock Lesner and Cody Rhodes battle it out to finally complete their trilogy, while Seth Rollins strives to cement the prestige of his newly minted world heavyweight title.
Other noteworthy clashes include Gunther vs. Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul vs. Ricochet.
The women’s division features heavyweights like Bianca Belair, Charlotte Flair, and Ronda Rousey in action.
So, who gets the final crown, and who bites the dust? Let’s find out!

I. Roman Reigns vs. Jey Uso: Who’s the Next Tribal Chief?
The most important match is brimming with tension and excitement from the moment the two heavyweights enter the ring.
Both stars employ kendo sticks and steel chairs to repeatedly deliver fatal blows, only to be met with similar resistance from the other end.
Reigns suffers a laceration on his left arm after a horrible collision, and the fight spills into the crowd. Suddenly, from nowhere, Solo Sikoa intervenes to assist Reigns and hurls his brother onto a table.
Sikoa and Reigns prepare for a devastating spike and spear combo, but Uso evades them, and Reigns accidentally injures Sikoa. Uso tries to capitalize on the situation, but the champion escapes.
This is where the tables turn, and Reigns capitalizes with a spear through the table, pinning Uso down. Uso finally gets defeated, and Roman Reigns ‘reigns’ as the Tribal Chief again!
II. WWE Woman’s Championship Triple Threat Match: Asuka (c) vs. Bianca Belair vs. Charlotte Flair
This match features three of the finest women wrestlers in WWE, but it does not quite live up to the exponential hype due to some critical misses at clutch moments. However, the ending is just mind-blowing!
Despite lacking cohesiveness, the match has many crazy moments when each of the three stars executes their signature moves to gain the upper hand.
The tension peaks when Belair injures her knee for real and fizzles out of the tie, leaving Asuka and Flair to duel among themselves for the ultimate crown.
Belair finally returns and lands a 450 on Flair but fails to secure the pin. This gives Flair a chance to double down on Belair, and she does so perfectly. However, Asuka momentarily spoils the party by spraying her with blue mist, but to no avail. That’s because Belair finally manages to get the better of the other two and reclaim the coveted title.
III. Iyo Sky Emerges as the Final Winner
Bayley has already said that Iyo Sky will win a title, which she does with utmost conviction! After the triple takedown, Belair comes out injured, and Damage CTRL and Sky take full advantage of the situation.
Sky strikes Belair with a briefcase and crushes her with a moonsault to win her first WWE Women’s Championship!
IV. WWE World Heavyweight Championship match: Seth Rollins (c) vs. Finn Bálor
Seth Rollins vs. Finn Balor is one of the major attractions of WWE every year, and it doesn’t disappoint this year either!
This time, things get interesting when men’s Money in the Bank winner Damian Priest joins out of nowhere but is quickly kicked out by Rollins.
This is followed by Judgement Day members Dominik Mysterio and Rhea Ripley joining the show. Balor gets distracted by Priest, Rollins lands a curb stomp, and Balor kicks out soon after. He is followed by Rollins, who also kicks out in the end.
V. Intercontinental Championship match: Gunther (c) vs. Drew McIntyre
This match was expected to be one of the most technical fights of the night and surely lives up to the hype.
Powerbombs, blows, and chops are traded left and right, and a dazzling fight between Gunther and McIntyre seems to end the title reign of ‘The Ring General,’ but Gunther kicks out at the nick of time.
Finally, Gunther catches McIntyre on the top rope and annihilates him with a combination of frog splash, clothesline, and powerbomb. The path toward being the longest-reigning Intercontinental champion ever is still ablaze for the superstar!
VI. MMA rules match: Ronda Rousey vs. Shayna Baszler
The spectacle of MMA rules match in a WWE ring is somewhat unpredictable, but the MMA background of both stars justifies it.
The match begins with a good rhythm, featuring a flying knee from Rousey, but is suddenly interrupted when the referee intervenes to call Baszler’s trainers.
The two trade submission moves in an attempt to make the other surrender, but Baszler makes Rousey lose consciousness via submission and finally secures the coveted victory.
VII. SummerSlam Battle Royal
The return of Omos and LA Knight to the ring has hyped everyone up, but there aren’t too many exciting moments in the match before Omos gets eliminated.
The last three left are AJ Styles, Sheamus, and LA Knight. However, Styles is eliminated with help from Karrion Cross, and LA Knight gets Sheamus out of the ring to win the Battle Royal!
VIII. Brock Lesnar vs. Cody Rhodes
The match starts even before the bell rings, and the intensity peaks with Lesner throwing Rhodes around and Rhodes countering him with signature moves.
Lesner takes complete control and takes Rhodes to suplex city and hits an F5 on the announcer’s table. Thereafter, The American Nightmare finally gets offensive and executes a perfect Cody cutter from the top rope. However, Lesner kicks out.
Finally, Rhodes lands three back-to-back Cross Rhodes on Lesner and pins Lesner down for his second win against The Beast Incarnate.
However, the most unexpected part happens after the game when Lesner shakes Rhodes’ hands and hugs him as a sign of respect. Things we watch the game for, right?
IX. Logan Paul vs. Ricochet
Ending the list with what is considered the ‘most viral tie’ for WWE. Logan Paul once again proves his worth against the infamous Ricochet.
As usual, the match starts with Logan getting booed incessantly and Logan egging them to go on. Anytime Ricochet gets the momentum, Logan is always quick to turn the tide back toward him.
However, the excellent match ends in a dud as Logan gets a brass knuckle from a friend and knocks Ricochet out. The cherry on the cake is Logan has Samantha Irvin, Ricochet’s fiancé, announce him as the winner. Talk about rubbing salt in a wound!
