Summer time Rendering Ep 9: Release Date, Speculation, Watch Online

In the eighth episode of Summertime Rendering things take quite a surprising turn as the secrets unfold and secrets about the Shadows are uncovered.

The whole Shadow situation is far more complicated than what it previously seemed with the Shadows themselves being more than just two-dimensional, good or evil characters.

We definitely have a Shadow on our team here in the form of Ushio who has brought with her some rather specific evidence in the form of a video on her phone. A video that was taken on the morning before her real self was murdered.

It looks like we are finally going to get the answers that we were looking for.

Episode 9 Speculations

Ushio’s Shadow is finally on board with the entire team which now includes Hizuru with her brother, Nezu the Hunter, Sou, and Shinpei himself.

Ushio does not seem to remember much about her death nor does she know how to utilize her Shadow powers. Although she is certainly a key piece to this puzzle.

Her clue comes in the form of a video stored on her real self’s phone that was taken on the morning she was murdered. That very video might just have the answers to most of our questions or it might just lead to more of them because the show does not seem to shy away from pitch black mystery.

Episode 8 Recap

The episode begins with Ushio barging into the Kofune household’s kitchen where Shin is cooking dinner. He is visibly shaken upon seeing her since she was not supposed to appear until the night of the festival.

Things for him in this loop have already started going differently but a diversion the size of Ushio was definitely going to set off a whole different chain of events and that it does.

Their meeting is interrupted by Mio and Alan but Shin manages to cover Ushio’s presence due to his knowledge of the future.

He hides her in his room and takes her dinner there. He confirms that she is indeed a Shadow but is much different than the ones he has met so far since she wants to help him and not really murder everyone in sight.

Shin tries to jog her memories of the recent past, even tries to help her access her Shadow powers but she is unable to do either.

Their little experiment is yet again interrupted by Mio who takes the plates away without ever suspecting a thing but is soon followed by her Shadow who wastes no time before trying to stab Shin.

Shadow Ushio jumps in to save him but gets badly injured in the process. Shin, in a moment of desperation, puts away the curtains in his room before pulling a knife out of his own to face Mio.

His job is made easier by Nezu blasting her head off cleanly through that window. Shin takes the opportunity to stab her Shadow and manages to dispatch Shadow Mio.

Nagumo arrives just a moment after all of this has gone down and moves in to finish what is left of Ushio since she too is a Shadow but Shin quickly hops in to plead her case and manages to convince both Nagumo and Hizuru.

Nezu and Hizuru decide to let her live for the time being but they feel that she is a ticking time bomb and could potentially destroy everything. Nezu and Hizuru decide to move away from Shinpei as long as he is with Ushio.

The rest of the day goes by as it normally had until Sou arrived. The meeting between Sou and Shinpei did not go as planned because this time they went to the same beach where Ushio had died only this time, Sou was meeting her Shadow. 

Overcoming his shock, he listens to their story carefully. Once that is done, the two boys offer Shadow Ushio, Ushio’s phone. She is unable to unlock it using the password but is successful with the fingerprint scanner.

There, she comes across a video shot on the very morning she was murdered, rather mysterious.

About Summer Time Rendering

Summer Time Rendering is a manga by Yasuki Tanaka. It started serialization in the Shonen Jump+ magazine in October 2017. The manga ended on 1st February 2021 with an anime announcement.

The manga is a mystery story set in the Wakayama prefecture, a remote island with a small population. Shinpei had to return to the island to attend the funeral of his childhood friend and family member.

Although the funeral seemed to be progressing without any disturbance, Shinpei was suddenly caught in a dreadful situation.
