Neon Genesis’ fourth film, Evangelion 3.0 + 1.0, for which fans have been waiting patiently for 8 years, was finally scheduled for release on 27th June 2020.
However, Studio Khara, the studio animating the film, announced a further delay before the movie can be released due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Studio Khara, in an attempt to make people’s quarantined time more bearable, has released the first three Evangelion films for free on YouTube and on the Eva-Extra smartphone app. These films will be available for free streaming on YouTube till 30th April.
Evangelion: 1.0 You Are [Not] Alone
Evangelion: 2.0 You Can [Not] Advance
Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo
The studio’s website put up an announcement which states that it is currently working on releasing the audio commentaries “so that you can enjoy yourselves even more now that you’ll be spending such a long time inside your homes.”
The first 10 minutes and 40 seconds of Evangelion 3.0 + 1.0 were released last year. In March 2019, the franchise’s official twitter account announced that voice recordings for the movie had begun.

About Neon Genesis Evangelion:
Neon Genesis Evangelion is a Japanese anime television series produced by Gainax and Tatsunoko Production, directed by Hideaki Anno and broadcast on TV Tokyo from October 1995 to March 1996.
This series revolves around Shinji Ikari, who was recruited by his father to battle giant monsters (called Angels) in enormous mecha suits (called Evangelion). Shinji has a hard time bearing this responsibility, and his inner conflict about these events leads to introspective episodes covering a range of religious and existential questions.
