Over the past couple of weeks, most of the world has been put on lockdown due to the COVID 19 pandemic. First large social gatherings were prohibited, and now only essential places are open to flatten the curve.
The world of anime and manga is no exception; workplaces of many production houses are being shut down, causing delays in many release schedules.
Studio Colorido’s most recent project, A Whisker Away (Nakitai Watashi wa Neko wo Kaburu) was originally supposed to release on 5th June in Japan; however, it has been delayed due to production issues caused by COVID-19. The film will now stream globally exclusively on Netflix starting 18th June.
Yorushika will perform the theme song “Hana ni Bōrei” (A Ghost for a Flower). A trailer & stills from the movie have also been released.

About Nakitai Watashi wa Neko wo Kaburu:
This original film revolves around Miyo “Muge” Sasaki, a bizarre second-year junior high student who is desperately in love with Kento Hinode, her classmate.
Despite her best efforts, Kento seems to take no notice of her, so she decides to kick things up a notch. Muge discovers a magic mask that allows her to transform into a cat named Tarō.
The magic lets Muge get close to Hinode, but soon, the borders between her life as a cat and as a human begin to fade.
