Strike the Blood made its first appearance as a light novel series in May 2011. Since then it has inspired various anime and manga adaptations and has also compiled 21 volumes of content.
Kadokawa’s Dengeki Bunko Imprints’ official Twitter account recently announced that the main story is coming to an end with its 22nd volume, titled “Akatsuki no Triumph.” The final volume will release on August 7.

The light novel series was adapted into a manga, written by Gakuto Mikumo and illustrated by Tate. It serialized in the Dengeki Daioh magazine for a total of 10 compiled volumes from June 2012 to December 2016.
The story revolves around Kojo Akatsuki, a high schooler, who is believed to be the Fourth Progenitor. This powerful vampire could potentially disrupt the balance of power among the world’s three ruling progenitors.
Kojo’s main source of power is his libido drive and to stimulate it, he has a few recruits who are attracted to him. Yukina Himeragi is a neophyte Sword Shaman whose first mission is to ‘observe’ him.
About Strike the Blood
Strike the Blood is a Japanese light novel series by Gakuto Mikumo with illustrations by Manyako. A manga adaptation began serialization in June 2012 in ASCII Media Works’s Dengeki Daioh.
The plot is set in Itogami Island, a man-made island south of Japan. Kojo Akatsuki, an ordinary highschooler, becomes a vampire and is suspected of being a power that can disrupt the current balance of the world.
Along with Yukina Himeragi, he forms a team of students. Some of these students are attracted to Kojo and create situations which drive his libido…which is the main source of his power.
