Here is everything you need to know about the Wandance anime adaptation.

Break It Down With Wandance

The highly anticipated anime adaptation of Wandance is in the capable hands of studios Madhouse and Cyclone Graphics, with release date sometime in 2025. And if you need more reasons to be excited, remember that Studio Madhouse has a stellar track record with anime adaptations, including the first season of One-Punch Man’s first season, Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, the original Trigun, and too many other anime adaptations to count.

Wandance’s street dancing scenes will be Brought to life under the expert guidance of RIEHATA, the ‘Queen of Swag.’ Her influence, having created choreographies for renowned groups like EXILE, KAT-TUN, BTS, EXO, and Red Velvet, assures that the anime’s dance sequences will be nothing short of spectacular. While no other staff information is available at this time, RIEHATA’s involvement alone is a promising sign for the anime’s quality.

More About The Street Dance Anime

Like many other anime adaptations, Wandance first started as a manga series. Created by an artist, “Coffee”, Wandance kicked off its run in Monthly Afternoon magazine in January 2019 and has been collected in 12 volumes to date, with roughly 900,000 copies in circulation to this day.

For those unfamiliar with Wandance, the manga series has laid the foundation for the upcoming anime adaptation. Described by Kodansha as a story that resonates with fans of coming-of-age tales like Blue Period and Your Lie in April, it’s a narrative that has inspired and captivated readers.

Given the timing of this announcement and what information was made available, fans can expect the Wandance anime to premiere sometime in the Summer 2025 season or later. Stay tuned for more updates.

About Wandance

Kaboku Kotani is starting high school, and he plans to do what he’s always done: go along with his friends, keep quiet, and not to draw too much attention to himself. After all, it’s hard enough to get by with a stutter like his—why make things worse by standing out from the crowd? But then he sees another first-year, Hikari Wanda, dancing like no one is watching—or like she doesn’t care who sees her. It makes Kaboku wonder: Could he reach that same freedom? To find his way to Wanda, he does something he never thought he could: He joins the dance club. After all, every routine begins with a single step, right?
