Toei’s URVAN, is a short anime film that adapts the gorgeous landscapes of Sasebo city. The visuals that have been revealed are mind blowing.
Toei Animation’s Youtube channel has posted a short trailer for URVAN.
URVAN’s full video will be five minutes long and will be aired on 12th Feb but will stream the anime on 11th.
The trailer is short but impactful, the anime’s protagonist can be seen running towards something in the trailer with a pretty background.
Her attire is designed in red and black, and she seems like a ninja or warrior. The character design of the mysterious girl is also revealed.
The word “URVAN” is derived from the Japanese word “Obon,” a Japanese custom of honoring ancestors’ spirits.
Toei’s new research and development team, PERO, had decided to animate this experimental video.
Toei came in contact with Nagasaki International University and used the photographs taken by students to animate the scenery.
Sasebo city from the Nagasaki Prefecture serves as the inspiration for the anime’s sceneries.
