Japan Sinks: 2020

The official website of Japan Sinks: 2020 released a new promotional video for the anime film set to release on 13th November 2020.
The new film will be an edited and compiled version of the existing anime. It follows the lives of different people when disaster strikes Japan.
Japan Sinks: 2020 anime by Masaaki Yuasa was released in July 2020 on Netflix, worldwide. Since its distribution, the anime had received mixed reviews.
The theatrical edit film directed by Yuasa and animated by Science Saru is being released to get the complexity of the story through to the audience.
Japan Sinks is based on the disaster novel Nihon Chinbotsu by Sakyo Komatsu and published by Kodansha. A sequel was published in 2006.
The anime focuses on the Mutoh family in the backdrop of a major earthquake that hits Japan shortly after the Tokyo Olympics in 2020.
