The official website of True Cooking Master Boy anime announced a sequel following the final episode of Season 1 which began airing in October 2019.
The official website also released a key visual and a promo video for season two which will be airing in 2021. Season 1 was produced by Production I.G.
Itsurou Kawasaki directed and handled the series composition. Saki Hasegawa was in charge of character design while Jun Ichikawa composed the music.
True Cooking Master Boy (Shin Chuuka Ichiban!) is a manga series by Etsushi Ogawa. It was serialized in the Weekly Shōnen Magazine from 1995 to 1999.
The story takes place in 19th century China, during the fictitious era 'The Era of the Cooking Wars' in which top chefs strive to become the best chef in China.
After the death of Mao’s mother, Pai, who was called the ‘Fairy of Cuisine’, Mao becomes a Super Chef so that he can run his mother’s restaurant.
However, before he takes over, he travels across China to learn different cooking styles and become a legendary chef like his mother.
