The Gundam franchise has a lot of independent storylines, some of which are more popular than others.

Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway’s Flash anime film has earned over 2.2 billion yen(around 19.5 million USD) at the Japanese box office.

This is the first Gundam film since 1988’s Char’s Counterattack film to hit the 1 billion yen mark.

It is also on its way to beat the 1982’s Mobile Suit Gundam III: Encounters in Space’s record for the highest grossing Gundam film.

This is probably the only adaptation from the Universal Century Timeline, which has received a good adaptation in terms of production quality.

Being the first in the trilogy, this is a great starting point for people who want to get into Gundam.
