MPA Takes Legal Action Against Nyaa

Motion Pictures Association of America delivered cease-&-desist letters to those involved with the website, Nyaa.
MPA demanded not only for the website to shut down but also cash settlements from the alleged individuals.
Nyaa.si is an anime pirating website which has recently come under the attention of the MPA.
Nyaa has made it clear that the website will not be closing anytime soon. Unlike its predecessor website, Nyaa plans to create a public database.
HorribleSubs was recently closed down, & KissAnime also closed down due to Japan’s stricter copyright policies.
Through its legal representatives, MPA has sent notices to those who might be in influential positions at Nyaa.
They also demanded access & control over Nyaa’s website. Although MPA wanted the torrent site to close down by Sept, Nyaa is still online.
