Modder’s attempt to mod Cyberpunk 2077 goes wrong, ends up turning the NPCs into exploding grenades.
CD Projekt’s futuristic FPS is famous for its long list of bugs and glitches. “Exploding NPCs” is the latest addition to this list. Yes, they’re actually popping like living coke bottles filled with mentos!
Australian Modder Wil “Wilburgur” Ramsay’s attempt to mod Cyberpunk 2077 ended up blasting NPCs like hand grenades. The explosions didn’t seem to have any trigger but unfortunately turned the NPCs into a bloody, gory, puddle of blood.
The modder shared a montage on Twitter on New Year’s day for viewers to enjoy these “NPC fireworks.”
The montage is a compilation of scenes showing the NPCs exploding into red puddles while they’re sitting, finish talking, or just randomly performing activities in the background.
The thought behind Ramsay’s mod seems to be vague. Nevertheless, it did turn out to be very entertaining. The animations were reminiscent of the Fallout series, with blood and guts flying everywhere.
Unfortunately, seems like Cyberpunk 2077 took a less gory approach by hiding the guts and only showing the blood. We could use some ear, eyeballs, or intestines, right?
Regardless of whether Wil keeps this as a part of the final mod, we at least got a fun montage out of it.
About Cyberpunk 2077
Cyberpunk 2077 is a 2020 action role-playing video game developed by CD Projekt Red and published by CD Projekt, based on video game designer Mike Pondsmith’s game series.
Set in a dystopian cyberpunk universe, the player assumes the role of “V,” a mercenary in the fictional Californian city known as “Night City,” where they deal with the fallout from a heist gone wrong that results in an experimental cybernetic “bio-chip” containing an engram of the legendary rock star and terrorist Johnny Silverhand (played by Keanu Reeves) threatening to slowly overwrite V’s mind; as the story progresses V and Johnny must work together to find a way to be separated and save V’s life.
