Bethesda always tries to outdo its previous work by delivering a more significant experience with each release. Therefore, when Starfield was delayed into 2023, fans were gloomy, to say the least, because instead of a nuclear wasteland or a fantasy continent like in Fallout and Skyrim, the upcoming RPG takes players on a journey across the vastness of space.
The prospect of diving into an adventure that’s set over 300 years in the future in an epoch of space colonization to discover the countless mysteries hidden across the Solar System can entice any gamer.
But as it seems, this wasn’t enough for the game makers. During the Xbox and Bethesda Games showcase, director Todd Howard sent shockwaves across the community by revealing the gameplay trailer of the upcoming sci-fi RPG and confirming its colossal scope.
As described by Bethesda director Todd Howard and shown in the game footage, Starfield will house over a thousand fully explorable planets across 100 Solar Systems when it rolls out in 2023.
From barren but resource-heavy ice balls to Goldilocks planets with life. And not just this system, but over 100 systems – over 1,000 planets, all open for you to explore
Todd Howard
Besides space exploration, Howard also gave players an insight into Starfield’s spaceship combat and player creation options.
While the space combat has room for improvement, the player creation holds a ton of promise as it allows for creating unique characters belonging to different backgrounds and having optional traits.
Spaceships, too, can be built, customized, and operated by a crew of your choice, where each ship will boast its own feel and weapon options. On top of this, players can also set up their outposts and hire the right crew to run them.
With Bethesda leaving no stones unturned to make Starfield one of its finest offerings, fans must remain patient with its development. After all, who’d want to dive into a game if it’s plagued with countless bugs?
