Bethesda is improving the title even more with yet another update, 1.9.47. The only catch is that it’s yet another beta update rolled out only for select players on January 18th. In its first update of 2024, Bethesda packs a punch with 123 bug fixes and improvements, including 40 graphical enhancements.

The most significant update, update 1.9.47, deals quite a blow to the storage. This is because it is pretty hefty, with its size being roughly equal to all previous Bethesda patches combined.
One of the widely requested features, quite literally, has been support for widescreen aspect rations like 16:10, 21:9, and 32:9. This patch delivers on that with reduced frame tearing and optimized rendering in the engine for widescreen resolutions.
There are five changes to the outposts. After traveling to the New Atlantis outpost, a rare missing terrain issue was fixed, along with the accidental removal of the outpost’s cargo links from the terminal list if connected, disconnected, and reconnected.

Two changes to powers include fixes about a rare issue that caused the Phase Time power to remain enabled, extreme speed occurring in zero-G during Phase Time power, and Solar Flare power that was not a critical hit earlier, which has now been fixed.
Thirty-five fixes have been issued in this update for quests and random encounters. There is a significant improvement to the ship’s customization mechanics. Fifteen general updates improve Starfield’s quality of life.
The difficulty of Starfield’s New Game Plus mode makes the re-runs harder and more rewarding. The beta version is available only to PC players for now. However, the wait will not be extended as all Starfield updates have gone from beta to final release in less than two weeks.
About Starfield
Starfield is an action role-playing game developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. It was announced during Bethesda’s E3 presentation in 2018. The game takes place in a space-themed setting, and is the first new intellectual property developed by Bethesda in 29 years. The game was released for Windows and Xbox Series X/S on September 6, 2023.
It is set in an area that extends outward from the Solar System for approximately 50 light-years called the Settled Systems. Around the year 2310, the two largest factions in the game, the United Colonies and Freestar Collective, engaged in a conflict called the Colony War. The game takes place 20 years after the war, with the major factions enjoying an uneasy peace. The player assumes the role of a customizable character who is a member of Constellation, an organization of space explorers.
