Bethesda is gearing up to launch its first new IP in over 25 years. Starfield promises to be of galactic proportions, and Bethesda is staying true to their roots in ways more than one.
During a Starfield Q&A session held on Discord, the developers revealed that over 20 named characters have been scattered across the universe with whom we can travel in-game.
As a member of Constellation, your mission is to unlock the mysteries of the galaxy.

Bethesda has had a trend of companion systems wherein the player can find new people, generally in distress, and help them out, with the reward of gaining their loyalty.
Starfield seems to deploy a similar system. Only four of the twenty companions are from the Constellation. Lead Designer, Emil Pagliarulo, went on to explain that they looked at older Bethesda titles for inspiration.
They realized the companions’ popularity, making it a big developer priority. They worked hard to incorporate the companion system directly with the main quest.
Having a crew at our disposal while traveling across thousands of planets would make it a truly immersive experience.

With all the promise the title offers, Bethesda announced that Starfield had gone gold. This means that the title has reached a point in its development where it is finished and ready for release.
An exciting feature incorporated into the final build is the “Speech Challenge,” which allows players to talk out of fights. The crew members will also be accessible on the pocket with a one-time payment, not a recurring salary.
All these changes mean that the file size has increased from the initial 125GB mentioned on the title page. The new file size for Starfield stands at 139.84 GB.
With all the hype surrounding the game and Bethesda assuring the fans that “Starfield is the least buggy game” they have released, players are looking forward to the Starfield release on 6th September 2023.
