Star Wars Outlaws Patch Update Causes Screen Tearing Issues on PlayStation 5

Star Wars Outlaws recently released a patch update which seems to have shaken up the game. Apart from introducing quality-of-life changes, there’s also a new screen tearing error stirring up trouble for PlayStation users. Hopefully, it doesn’t sit idle for too long.

Star Wars Outlaws brought out the Title Update 1.3.0. Soon after, X user @Riannon892 posted a video replying to the official announcement. The video featured Star Wars Outlaws gameplay with troubling screen tearing. As others chimed in, everyone agreed that it has made the game unplayable.

Screen tearing is a horizontal split on your screen at one or multiple places. It happens when the monitor’s refresh rate and the GPu’s frame rate are out of sync. You can see how playing with it would be difficult especially if you are dealing with a fast-paced situation.

So far, there has been no official response by the developers Massive Entertainment. However, such a pressing issue will be rectified sooner than later.

You can either wait for another patch update or try to fix it yourself. Check your setup and monitor support and enable VSync, Adaptive VSync, Enhanced Sync, Fast Sync, FreeSync, G-SYNC or Variable Refresh Rate. This may or may not work but it’s worth a try!

Meanwhile, if you want to take a look at what Title Update 1.3.0 consists of, head over here.

Much to everyone’s disappointment, Star Wars Outlaws failed to make a meaningful impact in the gaming world. Falling short of a few stars, it had a mixed response. While the game itself is spectacular, it lacks in terms of story and content.
