Star Wars Outlaws is making a lot of noise as enthusiasts gear up in their flight suits to get started on their intergalactic adventure. Star Wars Outlaws is an open-world game set in outer space, far from our galaxy.
Thrown into the role of Kay Vess, a menace trying to pull off a legendary heist, you will be forced to join and work with evil crime families and navigate both their undercurrents and the galaxy.
1. How long is Star War Outlaws?
Star War Outlaws will take 25-30 hours for a traditional run through the story path. An additional 25-30 hours for the completion of the entire game, including the open-world objectives, according to Creative Director, Julian Gerighty.
Star Wars Outlaws creative director Julian Gerighty has revealed and confirmed that this new open-world game from the Star Wars Tree will take about 25 to 30 hours on average to finish. This is, of course, for those who focus on completing and going through the main story. Whereas those completionists who leave no stone unturned will take double the time.
Thankfully, it seems that this time Ubisoft is keeping its promises. This timeframe for the gameplay is in line with the information they had provided earlier about Star Wars Outlaws’ gameplay. It was in 2023, when the game was still in closed development, Gerighty focused on the fact that this game would not take up hundreds of hours of playtime.
- 25 to 30 hours for those who focus on the main story
- 50 to 60 hours for the perfection seekers
There have been many offshoots of the Star Wars franchise, including many games. But the Star Wars Outlaws is the first truly open-world Star Wars game. With the lovers of Star Wars finally being able to travel across the galaxies, along with the content we can deduce so far, the game is definitely going to be a treat to play.
2. Ubisoft Trend Scares Fans
Ubisoft has had this recent (not really) trend of making their games go on and on. Even the story, not to mention the additional open-world missions, objectives and item collection. This has been both a boon and a bane.
Although someone who buys the game may feel that they have been given content worth their buck, a normal gamer would just go crazy. This is because it takes not tens but hundreds (sometimes several) of hours of gameplay to finish these games.
Although the game time mentioned above is confirmed and directly from Ubisoft, fans and gamers are apprehensive that there may be something in Star Wars Outlaws that will make the game go on for an annoyingly long time.
Thankfully for us, it does look like Star Wars Outlaws is going to be just the right length to make it both enjoyable and memorable. Especially with it being an open world, it is surprising (in a good way) that it will just take 25 hours to complete the story path in the game.
Of course, you should always keep in mind the fact that it is not the longest or the biggest game that is fun to play. It is the ones that make you smile when you think back to the times you played them. Even if they do have just a short gameplay time. As we say, ‘quality over hours of gameplay’ (yes, I made that up).
3. Not as Long as Assassin’s Creed Games
Comparing Star Wars Outlaws to other Ubisoft games (open-world), Creative Director Gerighty noted that gamers and fans shouldn’t expect it to be on the same level as the earlier released Assassin’s Creed games.
This is because the modern Assassin’s Creed games (Odyssey and Valhalla), can take a helluva long time to playthrough. The Star Wars Outlaws are going to be taking a different approach.
Although the amount of content and game time is being given up, in return, the mechanics will be more polished, and the existing content will be highlighted and of the best quality. Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora by Ubisoft can give us a pretty good idea of how this game is going to look in a few days when it will be released.
The Star Wars Outlaws’ release date is August 30, 2024. Can’t wait that long? Don’t worry; Ubisoft has got you covered! The early access for the Star Wars Outlaws will be available for those who pre-order the Gold Edition or Ultimate Edition of the game. The other alternative is to sign up for Ubisoft+, doing so will have you enjoying the game on August 27 instead of August 30.
