Andor, the upcoming Disney+ prequel series to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, will follow Cassian Andor’s journey five years before the events of the film.
Hence, it wasn’t a surprise when new set photos and video from Andor revealed Duncan Pow’s return as Sergeant Ruescott Melshi, who dies in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
Diego Luna will return as Cassian Andor. He will be joined by Genevieve O’Reilly, who played Mon Mothma in Rogue One and Star Wars: Episode III- Revenge of the Sith, and Chernobyl actor Robert Emms, who was recently cast in the series.
In March, The Illuminerdi reported that Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan Kenobi would be having a recurring role in Andor, which would connect to his own spin-off series.
Disney posted a sizzle reel for Andor in December 2020.
In an interview with Jimmy Kimmel last year, Luna teased what fans can expect from the series.
It’s basically everything you have to know to understand Rogue One. The story of the character before. I can spoil the ending, I guess! It’s nice to go into a story you already know the ending… Now you can take the nuances and the layers. I think it’s fun to do something that isn’t just about getting to the end. It’s about delaying that.

At The Walt Disney Company’s Investor Day event, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy announced several new projects to expand the Star Wars franchise.
The list includes Andor, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Rogue Squadron, Untitled Taika Waititi Film, Ahsoka, Rangers of the New Republic, Lando, The Acolyte, Star Wars: The Bad Batch, Star Wars: Visions, A Droid Story.
The series production has been going on in London, UK. Like many Disney+ Star Wars shows, details for Andor have not been revealed yet.
Star Wars: Andor is set to premiere on Disney+ in 2022.
