Chapter 5 of the Star Trek: Strange New Worlds series, titled “Spock Amok”, has been released on Thursday, Jun 02, 2022 at 3:00 am PDT.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Episode 4 Recap
The crew embarks on a routine mission to a Federation Colony but are surprised to find it desolate. The communications systems are also seemingly compromised. Finding this occurrence strange, Number One decides to lead a landing party to investigate the matter. Their investigation leads them to signs of a large-scale massacre and they encounter an unidentified spacecraft orbiting the planet.
The occupants of the craft identify themselves as survivors of the planet and they are welcomed into the Enterprise. Singh comes to the realization that the attackers were the Gorn as she had her own traumatic history with them and barely survived the encounter. Unfortunately, by the time she pieces this information together, it’s too late and the Gorn launch a cleverly strategized surprise attack on both the ships.
The severity of the attack causes heavy damage, with Number One and Hemmer sustaining injuries. The refugees’ ship is completely destroyed. The Gorn had the upper hand in the encounter as they took advantage of the Enterprise’s lowered shield protection while the refugees were boarding the ship and used this to cause more damage. Singh tells Pike that fleeing or going on the offensive would be detrimental to their survival.
