Now into its third season, Paramount+’s Star Trek: Lower Decks has been one of the most successful Star Trek spin-offs. With the seventh episode of Star Trek: Lower Decks currently streaming on Paramount +, here is a recap of episode 7 and every speculation that I have had about episode 8 so far!
1. Episode 8 Synopsis/Speculation
Though the production studio of Star Trek: Lower Decks has not revealed anything about the upcoming episode, I will try my best to predict what is in store for the next episode!
The seventh episode of Star Trek: Lower Decks featured the ‘redemption’ of the pint-sized super-intelligent robot Peanut Hamper and showed the dark side of intelligence without a human filter.
At the end of the last episode, she was imprisoned within the Daystorm Institute alongside other robots like Agimus for being a threat to organic life. The next episode will most likely feature her attempts to escape prison.
Episode 7 made us believe that Peanut Hamper can be benevolent, only to crash our hopes later in the episode. Could episode 8 drop a bomb again by bringing Peanut Hamper and Agimus together?
A classic prison-break situation might just be on the cards!
Can the finale (which is just two episodes away) be a battle between the two super-intelligent robots and the Cerritos crew? What will be the consequences of the fight? Which side will the avian civilization support? Will the chieftain’s son switch sides because of his love for Peanut Hamper?
Star Trek: Lower Decks presented another example of its twisted humor when I saw a romance trope between a robot ball and a bird-man. This will surely have consequences in the finale!
Guess we’ll have to wait for the next episode to be sure!

5. Episode 7 Recap
The seventh episode was one of the unique ones in the Star Trek: Lower Decks saga, with a significant portion of it not even featuring the Cerritos or our favorite protagonists.
The ‘Mathematically Perfect Redemption’ was that of the pint-sized robot, Peanut Hamper. In a flashback to season one of Lower Decks, I saw how Peanut Hamper abandoned the Cerritos crew when the Pakleds attacked them and then was rescued and taken to an avian planet.
The robot saved the life of the planet’s chieftain with antivenom and won their trust. The episode showed her getting into a romantic relationship with the son of the avian chieftain.
The chieftain proposed a marriage between Peanut Hamper and his son. But they were abruptly attacked by spacefaring scavengers in the middle of the wedding.
Peanut Butter rescued the planet from the scavengers by defeating all of them and won the trust of the Cerritos crew. But things quickly took a turn for the worst as they realized that Peanut Hamper was the one who alerted the scavengers of the worth and location of the avian spaceships in the first place.
The chieftain’s son used one of his people’s spaceships and defeated the scavengers. The episode ended with Peanut Butter imprisoned within the Daystrom Institute with other malevolent robots.
