If there is one thing that episode 9 of Spy x Family confirmed, then it is the fact that Yor and Loid are definitely in love or, well, falling in Love. The lovely couple goes through the same doubts and hardships that many do in real life.
The slightest of sparks springs Loid’s defenses straight into action while the same leads Yor back to her crippling Impostor Syndrome.
This episode very sweetly and slowly showed us how the two subtly complete each other. The mission’s intense sequences and Anya’s academic hijinks might be the hooks of the show, but it is moments like these that give Spy x Family its unique flavor.
Episode 10 Speculations
Now that Loid and Yor have made up and erased any creases in their relationship, it is time for us to go back to Anya and her adventures at Eden.
The next episode is titled “The Great Dodgeball Plan.” The preview gives us the idea that the main focus of the episode will probably be a dodgeball game among the students where Damian and Anya might be on opposite teams.
We could also get a look at Damian’s and, in turn, Desmond Donovan’s strained familial relations in the episode as we see a sorrowful and disappointed Damian in one of the shots in the preview.
It also looks like Anya is under training by Yor; who knows what damage she might just cause this time.

Episode 9 Recap
Yuri has questioned the validity of Loid’s and Yor’s marriage, and the only evidence he is willing to accept is a kiss. Loid is fazed at first but assesses the situation; seeing no way out, he leans in for a kiss, but Yor is unable to move until she is drunk.
Yor’s drunk self pins down Loid in passion and leans in for the kiss herself but pulls back last second, turning away with a mighty slap that goes on and hits a panicked Yuri who had rushed in to pull them apart.
Yuri begins to think that Yor slapped him because she did not like his protest. He makes yet another salacious remark targeted at Loid, to which Yor responds with yet another impromptu slap.
Yor, drunk herself, waddles to help her drunk and injured brother, but he does not have any of it. That playful banter suddenly makes Loid feel somewhat jealous of the two since he never had anyone with whom he could share the same bond.
Yuri refuses to accept their marriage and walks away with a positive impression of Loid, with that being the exact reason why he is pissed.
The meeting with Yuri planted seeds of doubt about Yor in Loid’s mind as he began to question everything and everyone around him all over again.
Anya, who reads Loid’s mind and is initially mad about not being able to meet a member of the secret police, is struck with a wave of sadness as she realizes that Loid is questioning the validity of the family again.
Loid, in an attempt to prove Yor’s innocence, wiretaps her and follows her to work. He learns nothing suspicious from all of that and decides to take a more direct approach.
Frankie and Loid dress up as secret police members and corner Yor who had just delivered a letter for her boss. They interrogate her quite thoroughly but only get earnest answers from her, in the end, they let her go. The whole incident leaves Loid feeling quite guilty.
Loid decides to make things right. He intercepts her “coincidentally” and removes her wiretap. Yor then confides in him that she feels like she is incompetent as a wife.
This resonates with Loid as well since he is going through something similar. He responds to her with the advice that people all around are pretending to be the perfect example of some role or the other; it is alright if she cannot; in fact she shouldn’t be since she is her own person and should stay that way.
This lifts Yor’s spirits and mends whatever little strain that had developed in their relationship. On their way back, the two decide to get some cake as it is their anniversary together.
When Anya comes back from school, she is delighted to see that her “parents” have made up and more so that she can celebrate that with cake.
