Billy questions Anya as to why she is so concerned about everyone’s food, and she replies that she doesn’t want any kid to go hungry.
Seeing her noble resolve, Billy again remembers Biddy’s compassionate and empathetic soul. He realizes what he has to do, gets off the bus, and gives himself up.
Vadim grows desperate and starts the bus, but the police vehicles stop it. As a last resort, he takes Anya hostage and runs out, but Martha uses her moves to fire a taser gun at him and gets Anya to safety.
All the suspects are arrested, and the students, along with Henderson, are free. Billy looks back at the children one last time.
