Chapter 38 of the Spy x Family manga, titled “Mission 38”, has been released on Sunday, Dec 27, 2020.

The next chapter will create a new conditional plot for our favourite spy family.

Spy x Family follows a bimonthly schedule and releases every second Sunday in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump.

No, Spy x Family manga is not on a break or hiatus. We expect the manga to be released as per its bimonthly schedule.

2. Chapter 38 Speculations

Spy x Family does not follow a particular story pattern; however, it revolves around a few central aspects. Let’s point out the topics that could be touched in the next chapter.

• We could see more of Yor Forger as she struggles with her gruesome job of assassination and the delicate role of a fake(?) mother.
• Mission 38 could very well be another mission for our little spy/telepath, Anya Forger. She might try to get close to Damian and earn Stella stars.
• A new mission might arise for Twilight to keep the peace between the East and the West.

The chapter marks a major update to Loid’s original mission. To preserve the peace between the East and the West, Loid is supposed to get into the good graces of Donovan Desmond to extract sensitive information.

The chapter shows a meeting of the Imperial Scholars and their parents, the most prestigious event of Anya’s school.

Not letting this opportunity go to waste, Loid makes a move to infiltrate the most secure mixer to make contact with Damian’s father – Donovan Desmond.

Unable to put his spy skills to the use, Loid decides to use Damian as bait to attract his father’s attention outside of the mixer. Unknowingly, Anya lends him a big hand by not letting Damian leave without meeting his father.

The chapter ends as after dozens of chapters, Loid finally makes contact with Donovan Desmond.
