Spriggan, the legendary manga that took the world by storm in the 1990s, will receive an anime adaptation by Netflix sometime in 2021.
Spriggan focusing on a technologically advanced future where super soldiers known as the titular Spriggan wage war in a bid to save the world while searching for mysterious artifacts that might act as humanity’s salvation.
The official website for David Production’s new anime series based on Hiroshi Takashige’s Spriggan manga revealed a new visual, staff, and cast members.
Spriggan will premiere sometime in 2021 on Netflix.

In the new key visual we can see our story’s main character, Yu Ominae in the center, ready to go all out, and on the sides, we can see Jean, Yoshino Somei, and Iwao Akatsuki.
The visuals and the character design by Shuhei Handa look absolutely stunning.

Netflix has only revealed the main protagonist’s voice actor for now.
Netflix has also stated that it is a ‘new’ adventure but doesn’t elaborate on what exactly that means. Could this be a new chapter in the SPRIGGAN story or a retelling of the original manga with more fleshing out?
Netflix is yet to announced a date for the release of Spriggan, but we can expect it sometime in 2021.
