Frieren: Episode 20 Release Date, Speculation, Watch Online

The first test is halfway through in episode 19 of ‘Sousou no Frieren’ titled “Well-Laid Plans.” After observing Stilles for a while and taking her party members’ powers into account, Frieren devised a plan to catch a Stille.

However, the plan will be executed on a grand scale and interfere with other participants. Fern’s party is also challenged and split up.

Episode 20 of ‘Sousou no Frieren’ will be released on Friday, January 26, 2024. It is a weekly anime, and new episodes are released every Friday. You can watch ‘Sousou no Frieren’ anime on Crunchyroll.

No, ‘Sousou no Frieren’ is not on a break this week. Episode 20 is not delayed and will be released on the above-stated date.

2. Episode 20 Speculation

Group 2 has successfully captured their Stille. However, the test is not over yet as Frieren’s spell alerted other mages, and group 13 is set to steal their Stille. With Denken being distinct enough to be recognized by the invigilators, it might be difficult to avoid him.

Meanwhile, Fern and her party are also against group 8’s Werbal and Ehre. Despite Werbel being famous, he is not the strongest mage in their group. However, he uses underhanded methods to win. Ubel is also known for her killing streak. These two are up against each other, which will be interesting to watch.

3. Recap of episode 19

Frieren is lost in her thoughts as she stays awake to keep a lookout. She is reminded of the night before the big battle against the dragon. Every party is different from another. Meanwhile, Fern’s party has caught a Stille, but they must protect it from being stolen now.

Frieren’s party goes through everything they have observed about the Stille. Frieren learned a spell to catch birds that were practiced in ancient times. The range of the spell is 50 centimeters, so they have to get close to the Stille to capture them.

Frieren takes note of everyone’s powers and devices a plan to catch the Stille. The plan will involve getting into a fight with everyone, so they have to be careful. Fern’s party, group 4, plans to hide but runs out of water. 

Group 4 goes out to get water but finds the riverbed dry. They get attacked by mages of group 8, Werbal’s party, trying to steal their Stille. However, both groups get distracted by the lake suddenly freezing. Lawine takes off inside the forest, and the other groups try to melt the lake.

Denken’s party, group 13, decides to wait and steal Frieren’s party’s Stille as they might have some grand plan if they pulled this stunt. Group 4 and 8 resume their fight and decide to scatter to escape. All the other parties scramble to find a Stille.

Many mages died at the hands of monsters, which is all a part of the test. Anyone who dies is unqualified to be a first-class mage. Denken despises this method and believes the mages are useless if they cannot touch other people’s hearts.

Frieren’s party is imbuing all the lakes with very little mana so that the Stille will have no choice but to go to a lake without any mana. The other parties will never sense the mana and cannot figure out their plan. 

Frieren suppresses her mana and waits for Stille to appear. A Stille lands on her shoulder, and Frieren quickly catches it. Denken immediately senses Frieren’s spell, and his party decides to attack immediately. 

Fern is also fighting Ehre of group 8 and realizes she is the strongest out of their party. Wirbel uses underhanded methods so Ubel, fighting against him, might die.

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is a manga by Yamada and Tsukasa Abe. It was launched in April 2020, and went on to win several prizes.

The story starts when a group of heroes come back home after defeating a demon. Frieren, an elf mage, has hundreds of years ahead of her due to her long lifespan.

She is destined to lose all her friends and comrades eventually. However, at the funeral of one of her past comrades, she realizes that she has a new adventure ahead of her.
