Streamer Distortion32 has figured out how to open the enigmatic secret door found in the Demon’s Souls Remake, becoming the first to officially do so.
About a week ago, someone on Reddit had discovered this door in world 1-3, and the thing is, this door was most certainly not present in the original version of the game.
After the said discovery, players were quick to speculate what lay behind this mysterious door.
Some believed that it is some form of easter egg that Bluepoint has added in the remake, while some suggested that it could be a part of some future DLC for the game. That said, none could get the door to open up, and it only displayed the message, “It appears to be locked.”
It seemed as if it would remain shut until yesterday when Distortion32 finally cracked the mystery surrounding the door.
Apparently, in order to open the door, a player has to collect the many Ceramic Coins present in the game. Upon collecting 34 coins, they are then to be taken to Sparkly the Crow in world 4-1 of the game, where you can trade them for a rusted key.
However, it is to be kept in mind that the base game needs to be completed in order to collect all coins, and the players must be in New game+.
Anyhow, upon receiving the key, Distortion quickly went to open the door, which revealed the same scenario as the game’s fantastic photo mode had shown. No DLC, no side-quest, no new NPC, and no easter egg, just a lone knight lying dead on what appears to be a bench.
Here’s a snippet picked off of Twitter:
It was no ordinary knight, mind you, for it was the boss of world 1-3, Penetrator, and the players are awarded his armor by opening the door.
“I don’t think the armor really does anything special. I think it’s just for the fashion — just to look awesome.”

Regardless, one of the biggest enigmas of the Demon’s Souls brilliant remake has been unraveled. That said, it’ll certainly be interesting to see whether there are more such secrets, just waiting to be discovered by the Souls community or not.
