Orphen’s quest to bring his sister Azalie back to normal continues in the newly announced story arc of Sorcerous Stabber Orphen. The third season had already begun in January and will continue for the next quarter. However, it will continue with a new title.
Until now, the season covered the Chaos in Urbanrama arc, thus surpassing the original 1998 series which ended at the Battle of Kimluck.
On Monday, the official website for the Sorcerous Stabber Orphen anime series released a new promotional video. The video shows footage from the “Sanctuary Arc” that will premiere on April 12.
The video shows Orphen, Cleao, and Majic fighting with Helpart and Ryan, who seems to be in control of a plant-like creature. In the background, the previous season’s opening song “Hysteric Caravan” by Showtaro Morikubo is played.
New cast members and theme song artists have also been revealed for Sorcerous Stabber Orphen: Sanctuary Arc. Both Showtaro Morikubo and Mai Fuchigami return to perform the opening song “Motive Rain” and the ending song “Shūen no Destiny” (Destiny of the End), respectively.
Here is the list of the new characters that will appear in the Sanctuary Arc:
Character | Voice Artist | Other Works |
Azalie | Yōko Hikasa | Mio Akiyama (K-ON!) |
Armagest | Akira Ishida | Fyodor D. (Bungo Stray Dogs) |
Jack | Hiroki Yasumoto | Agil (Sword Art Online: Alicization) |
Pluto | Satoshi Hino | Kyōjurō Rengoku (Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba) |
Silver Moon Princess | Tomoko Kaneda | Hiruko (Shangri-La) |
Crunchyroll is streaming the Chaos in Urbanrama arc since January 18 when it premiered. The remake first aired in January 2020, with a second season in January 2021.
Sorcerous Stabber Orphen might be left off because it is less popular lately. One reason may be that the source material is a light novel. But the light novels are strangely quite popular than they sound.
About Sorcerous Stabber Orphen
Sorcerous Stabber Orphen is a Japanese light novel series written by Yoshinobu Akita and illustrated by Yuuya Kusaka.
The novel inspired a manga and various anime adaptations. The series also paved a way for a video game exclusively for PlayStation in 2000.
A remake of this anime is released in 2020 as part of the franchise’s 25th-anniversary celebration.
It is the story of a boy, Krylancelo Finrandi, on his quest to save his foster sister, who turned into a dragon when an experiment to gain magical powers went wrong.
