Sony Pictures is reportedly developing three new movies and seven new TV shows based on its popular PlayStation gaming titles.
Sony Pictures continues its expansion in the region of video game – film adaptations. With the much-awaited Uncharted movie nearing release, gaming fans should be ready to watch more of their favorite gaming protagonists come alive on the big screen!
In his recent announcement (via MediaPost)
Sony Pictures CEO Tony Vinciquerra told CNBC that three movies and seven TV shows are currently under production at the studio. The titles and release dates for the same have not been revealed yet.
Furthermore, Vinciquerra stated that Sony would be relying more on its brands going forward. He explains,
” We have no specific plan yet, but we have a program within the company called One Sony. You’ll be seeing a lot more integration of Sony companies together.”

With the establishment of PlayStation Productions in 2019, Sony established its commitment towards utilizing its expansive portfolio of gaming titles for film and TV shows. “Twisted Metal,” “Sly Cooper,” and “The Last of Us” are some of the games reportedly being adapted into TV shows.
