Sony brings out new system update for PS5; not all fans are happy

Sony has released quite a few confusing updates in the past. However, this one has fans scratching their heads with the lack of requested features in the update.

The new system software update for PlayStation 5 makes the music in the control center more straightforward to use with a two-column layout, and players can now avoid unintentionally broadcasting to other devices when on the PS VR2. A new “What’s New” voice command lets players know what’s new on the PS5. However, the lack of inclusion of several essential features has disappointed players.

The screenshot of the update was shared on Reddit by u/hybroid. The opinion of the players were heard loud and clear in the comment sections.

There were several comments expressing dissatisfaction over the lack of stability improvements. While this refers to the memes that existed back in the PS3 days, the general scarcity of progress since the previous software update is rather appalling.

The What’s New feature is exclusively available in English for players with accounts for PS Network in the US and UK. There are general usability improvements on some screens and improved messages.

One of the recurrent complaints is the lack of folder organization hierarchy in the PS5. Another common complaint relates to Discord in general.

The two biggest problems on the PS5 regarding Discord are the inability to join Discord directly from the console and the failure to screen share from Discord.

It must be kept in mind that Sony announced a new PS5 console, new audio, and disability-targeted peripherals. While their hardware department is working in the right direction, the software department needs to pick up some steam to give players the features they have requested for years.
