2. Episode 10 Speculation
Sung has been forced to kill yet another Hunter, which may increase his Murderous Intent skill even further. As Kang noticed, Sung’s soul is slowly being taken into the darkness as a result of murdering humans. The system only triggers Murderous Intent when Sung faces a human with bloodlust, thus acting as a survival mechanism.
Moreover, Sung’s actions are starting to get attention within the Association. Sung does not trust the Hunter Association and wishes to keep his strength a secret, but this may not work much longer. Woo Jinchul, Kang’s superior, may be the first to start a case on Sung.
Woo has seen through Song’s lie to protect Sung. However, Woo played along with Song without escalating the situation. Woo will try to approach Sung by himself or even spy on him without revealing himself. As an A-Rank hunter, Sung may not be on par with Woo’s strength yet.
3.Recap of Episode 9
The prisoners easily kill all the goblins, with Song and Sung leading the party in the front. Both Song and Joohee are surprised at Sung’s growth over a short period of time. Eventually, the group reaches a fork in the room and agrees to split up.
Kang observes Sung through all his decisions and notices when Sung chooses the path that leads to the boss fight. Kang asks the prisoners if they can kill humans as easily as they kill goblins. The prisoners don’t see any difference between the goblins and the humans. The prisoners were arrested for violating a girl and murdering her, and their sentence was reduced by participating in dungeon raids.
The victim’s father was distressed over the unfairness of this system and paid Kang three billion yen to kill the prisoners in the dungeon. As the other two adventurers wander from one fork to the other, they find Kang strangling one of the prisoners. Sung hears screams from the other tunnel and quickly moves to find five dead bodies.
Kang had killed everyone in an attempt to leave no witnesses. Sung asks Joohee to heal them, and she barely manages to stop Kim’s blood loss. Kim desperately apologizes to Sung in his final breath. Kang attacks from a hidden corner, attempting to kill Joohee first, but Sung blocks his blade.
Song tells Sung to stand aside while he fights Kang by himself. Joohee uses a physical enhancement on Song as they trade hits with their swords. Sung notices that Song could win if he were just a bit faster. Kang cuts Song down until he’s on his knees but gets caught off guard by a magic attack.
However, Kang has seen past his strategy and avoids the attack. Sung blocks the final attack and faces Kang again. Kang and Sung fight around the dungeon at a speed that is difficult for normal human eyes to see. Kang’s murderous intent triggers Sung’s System response, giving him additional buffs and a quest to kill Kang.
Kang is forced to reveal his special Skill: Stealth, a rare skill he has kept secret from everyone. Sung’s foot is injured, but he immediately recovers it using Full Recovery. Through Sung’s Murderous Intent Skill, he quickly counters all of Kang’s attacks and lands a fatal blow.
Kang warns Sung about the darkness of his shadow, which is also slowly consuming his soul. Sung tells Song and Joohee to leave the dungeon while he kills the boss alone. After closing the dungeon, Sung meets with Woo Jinchul, who apologizes for Kang’s actions. Song takes the blame for killing Kang, but Woo sees through his lie as an A-rank hunter.
